A Friendly Update – January 2022

Hello from Croft House.
As we begin a new year, we are busy getting ready to welcome guests over the next few months!
We are closed during January as we are fitting a new kitchen, so as you can imagine, we’re a bit upside down, but I’m very excited to have it completed…….as you’ll appreciate, I spend quite a lot of time in it!
So not too long until I’m back baking cakes (some new recipes for you to try) and making tasty breakfasts. Our hens have been slow laying, their energy has been going into keeping warm, growing new feathers and coping with the short days, but they’ll soon be producing lovely fresh eggs for you to enjoy!

As some of you will know, there was a devastating fire in November at The Star Inn, in the village and it will not reopen until later this year. We know this fabulous pub and restaurant is very popular with our guests to visit and to enjoy their creative and delicious food. However, as a small village we are very lucky to also have The Pheasant Hotel, which serves beautiful food too, so take a look at their website for a selection of menu’s and you wouldn’t be disappointed eating there instead. I know many of our guests staying a few days love to eat at both establishments, so all is not lost. We do have some great eateries in the area, so please ask us for recommendations.

To just back track to May 2021, when we reopened (yet again) and it was mainly those guests who had stayed with us before that felt the confidence to book a few days away. It was like seeing old friends, they knew we would look after them, they felt relaxed, enjoyed a few days away in this glorious countryside and returned home refreshed.
We will be here when you start to consider taking a holiday, we can offer reassurance and relaxation and of course home made cakes and delicious breakfasts!
Either fill in the enquiry form on our website or call us on 01439 772320. We look forward to hearing from you.
