We stayed at Croft House and dined at The Star in Harome, as a treat for my husband’s 50th birthday! We had such a wonderful weekend. Frances was so welcoming and attentive. The house is beautifully decorated and has a lovely feel to it, with guests having their own breakfast room and sun lounge to sit in. Frances greeted us warmly and showed us to our beautiful room. We were then provided with delicious homemade cakes and fresh coffee/tea – a lovely special touch. Our room was exceptional, with an amazingly comfortable bed, lovely views over the garden and a ensuite bathroom with superb extra touches, such as bathrobes and toiletries. We were also provided with tea/coffee making facilities, a large bottle of drinking water, fresh milk, a TV and free WiFi. Everything was immaculately clean. The range of options for breakfast was vast and all locally sourced. Frances catered to all our dietary needs and served a delicious vegetarian and traditional cooked breakfast, as well as cereals, fresh fruit and toast, to name but a few of the options. We had the perfect weekend and cannot thank Frances enough for her kindness and attention to detail – we cannot wait to return!gshaw4
Croft House is an outstanding B and B on the outskirts of the charming North Yorkshire village of Harome and next door to a Michelin starred gastro pub, The Star Inn. My husband and I and our friends have just returned from two very relaxing nights here. We were warmly welcomed by Frances with a freshly baked Bakewell tart and tea. She then gave us the keys to her beautiful home to come and go as we pleased. Our bedroom was spacious and sumptuously furnished,as is the whole house which is decorated in an elegant country style. The festive touches added to the charm of this home.
The breakfast choice, which uses locally sourced produce, is amazing. I enjoyed the breakfast booster made from Natural yogurt and oats whilst my companions waxed lyrical about the eggs on their full English breakfasts some of which were laid by Frances’ own hens.
Upon returning from our first day out and about we were greeted with freshly baked mince pies left out for our delectation. There is a cosy sun room for guests to enjoy which overlooks the garden.
We were reluctant to leave and know that we will return to this special area and even more special bed and breakfast.silverhow
